A terrific slice of Southern Life. He captures the flavor of small town Ga. even as northerners move in and try to change it. I loved it, finished it at 3 a.m.. Who needs sleep when you've got a good book?

I was very dissappointed in this book, not as good as I expected. I'm a "yankee" so I didn't appreciate the many put downs of yankees. I'm also an animal lover so I didn't appreciate all the dogs being killed and the lady getting away with it. If you can put up with that, you might like it, read at your own discreation.

Three women's lives intertwine in a sometimes "over the top" portrayal of a life in a middle Georgia town.

This is a wonderful book with three different women who have very different lives.
I really enjoyed it! It is the kind of book you hate for it to end!

It was really fun! The dialogue seemed real and the characters grappled with significant isues but it was very humorous at the same time. A good read!

Welcome to the utterly eccentric world of Selby, Georgia, where the folks sprinkle three things liberally over their daily lives; sugar, religion, and the wicked fun of Southern living!

I enjoyed the list of characters in this one. Being from Md originally, which IS South of the Mason-Dixon line, I can definitely see some characters in this one that I think I grew up with. Good ole boys, southern women, and good home cooking! Does it get any better?

I quit reading pretty early on. About the time that two of the characters were secretly having a good laugh over the way the poor southern rubes actually believe in Jesus Christ. Um . . . . no thank you.
