I like this series and this story is interesting. The main character Gerrick, fully explores his evil side before being faced with a decision to choose good over evil.
It's too hard to rate one book of a series; akin to rating a chapter within a book. That said, this is one of the better series I've read in a long time. Like Robin Hobb, Carol Berg does a great job of developing her characters and writes extremely well. It was difficult to put the books down once I began, and I would recommend to anyone starting this saga to have all four books available when you begin. I will definitely look into other books Berg has written.
