After a bullet shatters her hip, FBI Agent Janet Killeen had a long road to recovery. Now ten months later, she has decided to take a week-long vacation in the mountains. But as a snowstorm blows in, Janet's vehicle slides down an embankment. She tries to climb the embankment using her cane, but it is too steep. Taking refuge in her car, Janet waits out the storm. Rancher Jack West sees the snow covered vehicle the next day and rescues Janet. Janet recognizes him as the rancher who threw her off of his property last year. But it turns out Jack has a nice side and offers Janet shelter at his horse ranch. With the storm keeping them secluded from the rest of the world, Janet and Jack get to know each other and discover that it doesn't take long for their views of each other to change.
This was an enjoyable novella in Pamela Clare's I-Team series. It was nice to read about older characters who fall in love. We've met both Janet and Jack briefly in the previous book, but now we really got to know them in this story. My rating: 4 Stars.
