Somewhere in Space and Other Stories: The Best of C. C. MacApp, Vol 1 (John Pelan Presents Classics of SF and Fantasy, Vol 11)
Somewhere in Space and Other Stories The Best of C C MacApp Vol 1 - John Pelan Presents Classics of SF and Fantasy, Vol 11 Author:C. C. MacApp, Kathy Pelan (Editor), John Pelan (Editor), Fender Tucker (Editor) Collection--stories from the 1960s by this traditional SF author who blazed so brilliantly then died too soon. Writing as C.C. MacApp, San Francisco chess master Carroll M. Capps had a brief but distinguished career from 1960 to 1971. Perhaps best remembered for his "Gree Series", he was adept at worldbuilding, with a fascinating... more » array of scenarios in his short fiction. Many of his novelettes were later expanded to novels in book form. Included herein are familiar tales such as his Nebula Award nominated "The Mercurymen," to more obscure tales such as the title piece. MacApp's work was more traditional during the years that the "New Wave" was all the rage, and is definitely worthy of rediscovery by today's readers. This volume, SOMEWHERE IN SPACE, is the first of three that will collect the bulk of his fiction in its original form, and they are introduced by the man who knows all about pulps and the old days of cult publishing, John Pelan. This book presents eleven very different worlds from the fertile imagination of Carroll M. Capps, we hope you enjoy visiting them all.
