I'm not so sure I'm happy with the way it ended, but I did appreciate that it kept me guessing till the end, I hate books where you already have it figured out 1/4 or 1/2 way in. Really loved the main character Joe, you could really feel his anguish and rage. 4/5 star book IMO.

Crime reporter Joe Carpenter lost his wife and two young daughters in the crash of Flight 353. Aching from his loss, Joe is unable to work, or to think...unable to do anything but grieve, and wait for his own death. Then Joe meets Rose, a woman who claims to be the crash's sole survivor. But before Joe can probe further, the elusive Rose slips away...and Jie is left with haunting, terrifying questions: If Rose lived through the crash, is it possible his family could have survived it, too? Did the authorities comspire to hide what really happened that night? Will his search for the truth shatter him like notheing has before...and force him to question everything he thinks he knows about life and death?
This book was not what I expected, but good nonetheless. I thought it would be more supernatural/horror, but instead it turned out to be more of a supernatural/conspiracy type off book. A good read and it does keep you guessing.
An ok book but nothing special. It is very disorganized. It seems like someone wrote the basic story line and then as someone else read it, wrote in extra stuff to fill in the plot holes. For instance the main character isnt really introduced untill half way through the book.
The plot for this book was quite imaginative. The characters are well defined and are what make the difference in this story. It ws fast paced and exciting and kept me reading. The book did make for a good read even if I was dissatisfied with the ending.
Great story.....definitely an book that will keep your attention. The movie was good also.
Fast page turner mystery!
Dean Kootnz is a master of suspense. This book is a prime example.
very suspenseful, wonderfully written
I like his newer books a lot better than when he first started writing because he adds a lot more to his characters now. The man in this book is so distraught by the loss of his family that he will go to any length to solve why they died. A good mystery if, a little on the unbelievable side even for Koontz at the end but whatever, it was a good read.
This was a really good read.
Good fast read. I liked it.
Full of suspense, very engaging!
Masterful mystery
I got really hooked on this book. I couldn't put it down but was kind of dissapointed by the ending. I don't know how I thought it would end but just didn't like it.
Great book! Have read it twice!
Fantastic novel
Intriguing plot! Hard to put down!!! You can count on Koontz to deliver mesmerizing stories.
I loved this book. It is not a horror book. Mystery and science fiction. Fast read.
Ever since i read life expectancy by Mr. Koontz, i've tried to read EVERYTHING of his. An awesome book (no suprise) with twists and turns.
The plane crashed without warning. Three hundred and thirty people died. No explanation. No survivors. Now one man who lost everyting that night is about to discover the answers he needs to go on with his life---or the conviction to finally end it.
