I didn't like this as much as Exile and Homeland, but I still liked it nonetheless. His journeys travel to the surface to a world he's not use to. But he feels that's where he belongs, rather than his world he comes from which is full of hatred and despair. Great book, definitely recommend reading this one.

Admittedly this was not my favorite book of the trilogy. I believe I had higher hopes for the drow on the surface. However, it was ultimately worth the read to complete the Drizzt trilogy.

I do believe that this was the best book of the series. I really enjoyed the Dark Elf's struggles. It was written far better than the first two books, especially Homeland. I do think the author could put in greater detail surrounding the characters that are in and around Drizzt. The one thing I think that makes this series a little different than other fantasy is that the character detailing and the world building is far simpler. It does take away from the story, but it also makes the book move along much faster.

Now I am ready to read the Icewind Vale series. Enjoyed the beginnings of Drizzt.

I thought this was the strongest of the Dark Elf Trilogy. A quick read with a good deal of action, but also a lot growth in Drizz't as a character. This definitely primed me to get into the Icewind Dale Trilogy.

Salvatore doesn't write great literature, his books are the written equivalent of a Michael Bay movie, but that's not such a bad thing at times. Sojourn was a fun ride.
