This one read a little slower than the other ones. I think the writing is a little too detailed for my taste. It has been a while since I've read Pratchett so my taste could have changed a bit.
I love the characters though and the story was intriguing. My favorite has to be Willikins, Vimes' gentlemen's gentleman. He is part thug / part personal assistant and can get things done in ways that Vimes can't.
There are lots of laugh out loud funny moments that make the book worthwhile. Fun read but it isn't something that you can do in one sitting.

While this was another walloping good novel by Pratchett, one of my favorite authors, it was a bit long in some places.
Another of Pratchett's Discworld novels dealing with the City Guards. It is, I'm sorry to say, incredibly slow, with only an occasional Pratchett twist. In this one, Commander Vimes reluctantly goes on holiday, only to stumble into a slavery/dope-smuggling plot.
