A beautiful author, a mysterious serial killer, and a hunky bodyguard are just a few of the elements that make this novel superb romantic suspense. Caitlin Bennett, wealthy mystery writer, has been receiving threatening letters, which don't seem serious to the police until she is pushed into the path of an oncoming truck. When her editor Aaron Workman learns of her "accident", he contacts his stepbrother, ex-cop and security company owner Connor McKee.
Upon Caitlin's release from the hospital, Connor returns with her to her New York penthouse apartment to install a security system and keep guard over her. Connor and Caitlin have never gotten along and continue to struggle to be civil to each other as Caitlin's letters become more threatening. When the police become involved and a link between Caitlin's case and several murders becomes apparent, Connor becomes more protective than ever. The evolution of romance between Caitie and Mac is rather inventive as intense animosity turns to desire. Can Mac protect Caitlin from the unknown threat before it is too late?

Ms. Sala has penned an intensely suspenseful novel with both depth and substance. Supporting characters abound including Aaron the editor, Kenny, the publicist, and several of New York's finest (police). With skillful writing, suspects are carefully eliminated from list of possible criminals until the reader is left with only one likely perpetrator. And the connection between Caitlin and the evildoer is intricately woven into the plot line and adds another dimension to this read. For sure-fire romantic suspense, Ms. Sala's latest can't be beat.

A wonderful gripping tale by Sharon Sala, I love her work. A writer, who is rich by birth, is under attack, someone is trying to kill her. That someone has links to her past... her father's past. Her agent, a wonderful character that you will just love to death, calls his step-brother to come do security for Caitlin after she is pushed in front of a truck.

Sparks have always flow between the two of them, sparks of dislike, even hatred, but when Mac sets his mind to proceting her, sparks of a different kind start flying.....

Excellent read, it was a fun story well told.

A mystery writer-billionaire is stalked by a killer. Hunky bodyguard/ex-cop teams up with her to find the killer. Of course they fall in love. Light fluff, but not especially well written.

Caitlin Bennett is a successful mystery writer; she is also a very rich young woman who inherited a media empire from her father. For months, she has been receiving threatening letters which have become ever more explicit. She has approached the police, but was not taken seriously. When her editor, Aaron Workman, receives a similar letter and discovers that Caitlin has likewise been getting these missives, he immediately calls his step-brother to come to New York to act as her bodyguard.

Connor Mac McKee had been a cop in Atlanta. He had burned out several years earlier and had started a now successful security firm. He is enjoying his first real vacation in years when Aaron calls, but he doesnt hesitate a moment to come to Caitlins aid. The two are not strangers; Aaron had introduced them previously, clearly hoping that the two people he loves most in the world might click. They hadnt.

Caitie reluctantly accepts Macs round the clock protection. Mac is not a hot dogger; he knows he needs help and he immediately brings the police into the case. But there are not many clues to suggest who is threatening Caitie and they have a lot on their hands; there is a serial killer on the loose.

This was a good book. I've always liked this author. I was able to figure this one out rather quickly, but it didn't take away from the story. Good suspense. Good chemistry between Mac and Caitlin, though I do have to be honest and admit that I skimmed over the love scenes, just really wanted to read the mystery part. I have several other books by Sala on my bookshelf and I look forward to reading them.
