A really nice YA story about three Scottish children who summer in France near their grandparents' farm. There is a closed up house in the neighborhood where the children have always enjoyed playing in the garden full of big sunflowers. Several different events happen that lead the children to believe that there is a mystery surrounding the house and somehow it involves their family.

There is a good subtext about prejudice in the story - how prejudices are formed and how they hurt both those who harbor prejudice and those they hold them against.

Very nice story, good characters of different ages (three siblings) that readers can identify with and good writing.
