Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Evanovich is back! I was bitterly disappointed in the last 3 Plum number books so much so that I vowed never to buy another hardbound book. After reading the first four sections on her website I decided to take a chance and I'm happy I did. She finally gets back to to formula that made her books so good before. I laughed out loud quite a bit and there was just enough Ranger and Morelli. Two thumbs up for this! I'm excited for Explosive Eighteen which comes out in November. =]

Classic Stephanie Plum! FTAs include a senior citizen vampire and a psychotic wife. Bodies keep turning up on the lot of the former bail bonds office. Joe's grandmother puts "the eye" on Stephanie and then the dreaded vordo. Stephanie gets very friendly with both Joe and Ranger. Enter Dave...Throw in Mooner, Vinnie, Connie, Grandma Mazur and the always funny Lula. Shake well and drink it all down! 4 stars

Great installment in what was becoming a bit of a routine series. This one gets it alive and kicking again. Can't wait to see what happens in the next one. As always, sopme good laughs, a little mystery and a whole lot of fun.

My husband surprised me by buying this in hardcover for me. I was so excited but then I read it in just a few hours and I have to say the plotline was somewhat boring and completely predictable. I still gave the book 3 stars as the characters are as good as ever. I will read the next book because I still like the series but I will probably wait for softcover or to get it from swap. I just wish Janet evanovich could have made it a little less predictable.

WOW!!!
This is a true Stephanie Plum adventure. It is a fast paced, car wrecking, book and it was hard to put down. This book has the reader trying to figure out if she will decide on Ranger or Morelli, while her mother is trying to set her up with a football hero from their high school days.
It has a great ending but leaves you longing for the next book. Could it be set on a forgein island? And with which man?
Love it and waiting for more.

Another great Stephanie Plum adventure! Enjoyed this one just as much as the others. Have read a lot of books in between and this was easy to jump right back into.

Always a fun read. However, Smokin' Seventeen felt just a little forced. Still fun nontheless. Dead bodies, threats, and a curse. Love Lula, and can't get enough of Morrelli. Probably the thing I like least was, although not graphic, all the sex with Ranger. I liked it better when Stephanie was attracted to him, but they played the cat and mouse game. I'm just saying...

Stephanie's still at it! Always funny! I just wish she'd pick a guy...
Another great, fast read by Janet. I have no doubt that I will read the entire series.

Bounty Hunter Stephanie Plum is worried when a couple of bodies are discovered at the new bail bonds office construction site. One of the bodies has a note attached to it that reads "For Stephanie". Trying to help Joe Morelli identify the killer, Stephanie comes up with a couple different suspects. But her life is complicated right now by too many men vying for her attention. She has Morelli, Ranger and now Dave, a former high school football star that her mother set her up with.
The 17th book in the Stephanie Plum series has nothing new. I read this series out of habit, not expecting to laugh-out-loud like I did with the first couple of books. The book did gave a few chuckles and is a nice easy read. But don't expect any surprises with this series anymore. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

Typical Evanovich, light and funny. Great summer read.
Plum is back and bigger than ever! I am another that was about ready to give up on the Stephanie Plum books because it seems almost as if Evanovich did the last 3 on autopilot. Boy, oh boy, did she ever get her groove back with this book! I only wish there would have been more of her mom and grandmom in the book. Oh well, I am now actually eagerly awaiting some more belly laughs from the next installment.

Smokin' Seventeen (Stephanie Plum #17) Janet Evanovich
I am a Huge Janet Evanovich fan, and I look forward to the movie, but I am a bit disappointed in this one. Stephanie, Lula, Grandma Mazur and all are back. Funny bail skips (one older man who thinks he is a vampire)and a lot of bodies turning up dead. Stephanies' life is at stake as she tries to figure out who the murderer is. I found it a bit predictable, but still enjoyable.
Filled with many laugh out loud moments, but I just would like to see Stephanie pick her man already!
It is getting old the Morelli/Stephanie/Ranger on again off again, "we have an arrangement" relationship. I love Steph, but she is getting a bit promiscuous, and that is just not my thing.
I still recommend to Evanovich fans, and I look forward to reading Explosive Eighteen

great book!!--love this series--worth reading-definitely!!
As usual Stephanie Plum gets in more trouble than one can imagine. It has mystery, humor and just good reading. I highly recommend this and other books of the series.
Great reading...and very fun!

It's bad enough when corpses start showing up buried on the site of the bail bond agency's under-construction building . . . But when they start being left in cars with "gift tags" on them designating them as "For Stephanie", things get really crazy.
Another page turner!
Love, love, love Stephanie Plum!!!
Stephanie once again bungles bail apprehensions, while being pursued by not one, but two people who want to kill her. My favorite characters are Mooner and Grandma Mazur. And where would Stephanie be without the help of her faithful friend Lula? There are plot twists and plenty of laughs, with a climax that no one saw coming.
Where there's smoke there's fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie's name is on the killer's list. Short on time to find evidence proving the killer's identity, Stephanie faces further complications when her family and friends decide that it's time for her to choose between her longtime off-again-on-again boyfriend, Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and the bad boy in her life, security expert Ranger. Stephanie's mom is encouraging Stephanie to dump them both and choose a former high school football star who's just returned to town. Stephanie's sidekick, Lula, is encouraging Stephanie to have a red-hot boudoir 'bake-off.' And Grandma Bella, Morelli's old-world grandmother, is encouraging Stephanie to move to a new state when she puts 'the eye' on Stephanie.
17 was a charm! Grandma Bella put the eye on Stephanie. Grandma Mazur has a strange dream which sums up the whole book in code. Grandma Bella puts the vordo on her. Both Morelli and Ranger get some lovin'. 7 dead bodies show up every couple of days, she gets her skips, Jim's brother Nick Alpha gets out on parole and starts threatening Stephanie, but stand in line because one of her fta's wants to run her over with her Lexus, speaking of cars Ranger loses another car... Uncle Black gets bombed and took the loaner with it! Plus Dave Brewer once a hometown hottie returned in disgrace gets the idea that Stephanie's looking for a boyfriend. This is thanks to her mom who keeps setting her up to take Dave for a try. As it turns out Dave's a real killer!
