Natalie T. (mother2midwife) reviewed A Smart Girl's Guide To Manners (American Girl Library (Paperback)) on
Helpful Score: 3
It was a good review of manners and how to be polite, and be a good friend. It even covered "manners for modern-day technology" (ie e-mail).
What I didn't like was that it said, "Men and women are equal, so some of the old manners (like holding a door open) are only done by people who like to still do those things." I completely disagree with this... women are still women, and men are still men, and men should treat women as they should be treated!
I also didn't like when they spoke about more mature subjects (ie boy/girl interactions). My daughter is 9, and we're not going to get into those kinds of things until she is 12.
