This book is one of those "I'll just read one more chapter, then I'll ... go to sleep, do the laundry, make dinner, etc., etc. - with all the best intentions - but you just keep reading! (Sound familiar??)

Mary Balogh continues her smashing series with Rannulf Bedwyn. He is going to visit his grandmother and thwart her matchmaking efforts when he meets a young lady masquerading as an actress. Theft, mystery, and mayhem collide to throw challenges into their paths.

Readers will be delighted with Balogh's new series that features the half-dozen members of the Bedwyn family first met in A Summer to Remember. In Slightly Wicked, third son Rannulf picks up a fetching young woman whom he believes is an actress stranded in the rain due to a coach crash. Judith Law, a parson's daughter, is traveling to her aunt's home to live as a poor relation and has decided to have one fling, one chance to not spend the remainder of her sure to be desolate life as a virgin. Pretending to be an actress, she accompanies Rannulf to an inn where they make passionate love before she slips away to take up her duties as an unpaid servant in her aunt's country house. When Rannulf turns up as a likely suitor for her cousin, complications abound. The Bedwyn siblings are the most fascinating romance protagonists to come along since Jude Devereaux's Montgomery brothers in the 1980s, and Balogh's sensuous Regency-era romances set the standard. They are not to be missed.

This is my absolute favorite of the "Slightly " series. I love that the heroine thinks herself not pretty at all, even to the point of being embarrassed about her looks. And the book has some wonderful twists you never expect. It's one of my favorites of all Mary Balogh books.

A little disappointed in this one. It was kind of slow and Judith's back and forth of refusing to marry Rannulf but pinning for him got old. In fact there were a lot of annoying parts. Rannulf's insistent of giving Judith's cousin a chance for marriage because he thought it was what his grandmother wants even though he disliked her. Rannulf's grandmother changing her mind about Judith's cousin but not saying anything to Rannulf. It goes on.

It was an okay read. Not her best but it started out kind of fun.

A good read with an excellent heroine (a favorite in the series).

Slightly Wicked features Rannulf, the third son, and Judith, daughter of an impoverished rector, she's been sent to live as a poor relative with her wealthy aunt. The story had some familiar romance novel tropes and some melodrama at the end which was very obvious. In that, Mary Balogh disappoints, but her books are always well written and characters well drawn.

Typical Balogh sensuality, steamy but not overly detailed or drawn out.

A delicious addition to a fantastic series. I read the books entirely out of order except Alleyne's and Morgan's books which really should be read in order. Each book in the series can easily stand on its own but they tie nicely together as well and you become more involved with each family member.

A lovely, lovely story! At times the plot reminded me of Jane Austen. It was a great addition to the Bedwyn family series.

My first by Mary Balogh, but definitely not my last. At times I wanted to strangle both main characters, but the book kept me involved. It was an odd book because the main characters have a very physical relationship right at the beginning when they don't even know each other and then when they are reunited, their relationship is very distant for a long time. So this makes for a slightly disjointed read, but overall a good book. This book made me very interested in the rest of the Bedwyn family, so I will definitely read their stories.

I read this despite some bad reviews I read elsewhere, and could not believe that this was the same book people were saying was boring! I loved this book so much! Judith was a great heroine! I related to her in so many ways, and desperately wanted to see her perfect romance end so well, and it did!

You can't help but feel sympathy for Judith when you read the scenes with her terrible, self-absorbed cousin, and her evil, cruel aunt. Rannulf was indeed a great hero, and the two belonged together. Their story was so exciting to read, I couldn't put this down!

The Bedwyn family is great!! This is the second Bedwyn story - this one is Rannulf's - although they were mentioned in A Summer to Remember by Ms. Balogh.

The "Slightly" books about the Bedwyn family are some of Mary Balogh's best, and this one, and the previous one, "Slightly Married" are my favorites in the series.

Judith Law is on her way to her wealthy aunt's house to be a companion to her Grandmother when her stagecoach overturns. She is soon rescued by Rannulf Bedwyn who believes her to be an actress and invites her to spend one night of passion with him. After parting ways, Judith is shocked to see Rannulf again, this time he arrives at her aunts to woo her cousin.

Great Book. It was hard to put down. I enjoyed seeing the hero and heroine fall in love. Can't wait to read my next Bedwyn story.

This book is part of a series of books about the "Bedwyn" family. Six brothers and sisters. This particular book is about one of the boys..Rannulf. I haven't read the book but it does look good. I just despise reading books that are part of a series, if I can't find the rest of the series, which in this case I can't.
