I thoroughly enjoyed this book since the relationship between the two main characters is passionate, but funny. This is the best in the Bedwyn series I've read so far...

Enjoyed the story about "Free" Bedwyn very much. She is a lady of fire, attractive but not beautiful, with a fiesty manner which attracts Joshua Moore. Free agrees to pose as Joshua's fiancee to twart his family's matchmaking attempts. It is the perfect plan.. until passion blindsides them both. For as Joshua sets out to achieve his complete seduction of Freyja, a woman who has sworn off love is in danger of losing the one thing she never expected to give again, her heart..

Fun love story, but much like her book A Summer to Remember.

I read Kit and Lauren's story first so I was shocked to find that Balogh decided the same storyline for Freyja and Josh. In fact, Balogh even alludes to it in the book. This was more fun though because Freyja and Josh both had the same sense of humor and are such free spirits.
A lot of humor. Good light read.

Wonderful love story with one of the strongest female characters ever written. Freyja is not the pretty demure lady we read of in most historicals. No she has a long nose, is haughty and likes to play rough. What is especially nice is that Balogh never wavers from her commitment to this character's ...character. She never cries or becomes girly, even in love. And there is love in this tale.
This story us a bit of a repeat of A Summer to Remember. A smiling handsome man who hides his inner pain, a fake engagement that the couple quickly loses control over. But it didn't bother, it was a good story to rehash!

One of a series about the Bedwyn family (6 brothers and sisters). This one centers on sister Freja, feisty and bolder than your average society lady. She meets Joshua, a marquess, when he bursts into her room and asks her to hide him. When he becomes iontriguedwith her, he asks her to pose as his fiancee to stop his family from matchmaking.

If you count the prequels One Night For love and A Summer To Remember then this is the 5th in the Bedwyn series-Freyja's story. Each new story is my new favorite. The banter is very funny, the characters fleshed out well and characters from the past stories are included, it's like a vist from old friends. I like how Balogh "humanizes" Wulfric just a little more in each story, I love his sense of humor which is dry, dry, martini dry.

I enjoyed the whole Slightly series. I found the characters to be real, both good and flawed. Nothing seemed too out there. Balogh did a good job of showing the difference between public and private faces.

Book # 5 in the series about the Bedwyn family. These are 6 brothers and sisters finding their true mates in these fantastic historical romance novels.
I'm a long-time Mary Balogh fan, and I love this series of novels! The two main characters in this book, Freyja and Joshua, were wonderful!

The Bedwyn Family books are must reads read them all.
I love this book. The hero and heroine are so fun and funny together. Some of the scenes make me laugh out loud. The beginning where their relationship takes off is not slow but builds continuously until the later part where some suspense occurs. I LOVE this book.
This was a re-read for me, and it did not disappoint. Gotta love insecure heroines and steady heroes. It is what keeps bringing me back.
A Must Read!!
Terrific book. I love that Freyja (pronounced Free-ya) is not a beautiful woman; she's not even pretty! One gets so tired of the usual stunningly gorgeous heroines of romances.... Freyja is plain, but fiery, and completely sure of herself. You met her first in "A Summer To Remember" where she was almost a villan. In this story you learn to love her and admire her greatly. Terrific story, as always with Mary Balogh.
great series!
This is the third book of the Bedwyns series. My favorite by far of the first 3 books. Great love story with many laughs included.
Freyja Bedwyn is not your typical society lady. She is bored with society's rules and wants adventure. Adventure soon finds her when the Marquess of Hallmere, Joshua Moore, bursts into her room at asks Freyja to hide him. He is intrigued by her when she helps him escape from the men who are searching for him. Soon they meet up again in Bath. This time Josh asks Freyja to pose as his fiancee to stop his matchmaking aunt from trying to marry him off.
I like this series more and more. Balogh's characters are very real. Even though the pace of the book is sometimes slow, I don't get bored. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

I enjoyed this series. It was witty, romantic and suspenseful
Third in the "Slightly" series, excellent book! A must-read for Regency-era lovers!
A story of a feisty heroine who is more than a little scandalous.
I loved Freya's story, even though I thought for sure I would hate her. She is such a complicated heroine. But once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I really couldn't imagine what type of man would fall in love with her, but Ms. Balogh, found the right one! This book is great. Hope you will enjoy. :))
A Great Series!

Meet the Bedwyns --- 6 brothers and sisters --- men and women of passion and privilege, daring and sensuality.
Another of the Bedwyn series. This book is about Freyja one of the sisters. Again a good read.
Good story line.
very tantalizing and romantic, a must read for anyone with secret desires.
Growing up with four unruly brothers has made Freyja Bedwyn far bolder than most society ladies. From feisty manner to long, tumbling hair, Lady Freyja is pure fire, a woman who seeks both adventure and freedom. Adventure soon finds her on a visit to Bath, when a handsome stranger bursts into Freyja's room and entreats her to hide him. His name is Joshua Moore, Marquess of Hallmere, a man with a hell-raising reputation of his own who is quickly intrigued, by the independent beauty. So intrigued, in fact, that he makes her a surprising request: to pose as his fiancee and help thwart his family's matchmaking schemes. For two people determined to be free, it's the perfect plan...until passion blindsides them both. For as Joshua sets out to achieve his complete seduction of Freyja, a woman who has sworn off love is in danger of losing the one thing she never expected to give again: her heart...
A Victorian romp through the drawing rooms of Bath, London and beyond in search of scandal and more.

This was a fairly amusing book. Ms. Dodd is a pretty safe bet for romatic romps and here she delivers a fiery, yet not-so-beautiful beauty and a pretty-engaging pretty-boy suitor. After many miscommunications, mistakes, misconnections everone ends up in love and happy. The villans were not so villanous. Really there were none unless you consider "good manners" and "maintaining a good reputation" being villans; which i guess in Regency they're quite villanous indeed. The best part is the witty repartee between the hero and heroine though towards the end of the book they get all soppy. it seems love makes you soppy. Oh, and the sex is great! Enjoy!
