Mary Balogh scores again with the story of a twosome with compelling reasons to enter into a marriage of convenience and their ensuing struggle to keep their promises to part and never enter each other's lives again. I loved it!

This book is a deep, emotional romance with flawed but principled characters. A great read for those who enjoy series books.

A Regency romance in the "Slightly" series by a very popular author. This is the story of Aidan Bedwyn, one of the six Bedwyns. The book can stand alone, but it is fascinating to read all the stories.

This is the first book of the Bedwyn Saga and it's my favorite. I appreciate that the romance between the leads develops over time. You really come to know them by the end and are pleased with their happy-ever-after ending.

This is # 2 of the Bedwyn series of books. I really enjoyed it and have read them all so far! The Bedwyns are a family of 6 brothers and sisters. They are romance novels detailing the adventures of these brothers and sisters in finding their mates. Great books!

Colonel Lord Aidan Bedwyn honors a dying soldier's request of protection for his sister by marrying her to ensure that she may keep her family home. Eve had no one else to turn to, so she agreed to a marriage in name only. But when Aidan's family hears about his new bride, their business arrangement begins to change into a real marriage.

As with most of Mary Balogh's stories, the relationship builds slowly. Aidan is transformed from a cold miliary officer to a man who is willing to give a part of himself to his new family. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I read this series out of order mostly because the first two books in the series weren't of great interest to me (from the back cover descriptions). So I jumped to Frejya's story, then to Morgan, Wulfric, then back to Alleyne, and now this, book 1 of the series. I can testify that the books need not be read in order, in fact, I may like Aidan better for "knowing" him as I do from future books. He is a rather dour and dark character whom it takes awhile to appreciate as a romantic hero. This story is one of the few "married for convenience" stories I've read that really showed you how two strangers can fall in love. How proximity, time, respect can all lead to romantic love. it was very well done, Overall it is a wonderful book in its own right and a good start to the series.

Ironically I read this one last. I almost skipped it because I was getting bored of the same old plotlines but I'm glad I read this one.

It takes a little bit of patience because both Eve and Aidan don't speak up and assume a lot of things about each other. But it's good to see them find the way to fall in love with each other.

Readers will be delighted with Balogh's new series that features the half-dozen members of the Bedwyn family first met in A Summer to Remember. In Slightly Married, the second Bedwyn son, Colonel Lord Aidan, journeys to Ringwood Manor to honor the dying request of one of his men: Aidan is to impart the news of his death directly to his sister, and protect her. Eve Morris does need protection. The death of her brother less than a year after her father's will leave her and her entire entourage of "lame ducks" homeless. To protect her Aidan proposes a marriage of convenience, but soon the secret is out and Eve must take her place as a member of the ton.

Like all the Bedwyn men, Aidan has a reputation for cool arrogance. But this proud nobleman also possesses a loyal, passionate heart--and it is this fierce loyalty that has brought Colonel Lord Aidan to Ringwood Manor to honor a dying soldier's request. Having promised to comfort and protect the man's sister, Aidan never expected to find a headstrong, fiercely independent woman who wants no part of his protectionnor did he expect the feelings this beguiling creature would ignite in his guarded heart. And when a relative threatens to turn Eve out of her home, Aidan gallantly makes her an offer she can't refuse: marry himif only to save her home. And now, as all of London breathlessly awaits the transformation of the new Lady Aidan Bedwyn, the strangest thing happens: With one touch, one searing embrace, Aidan and Eve's business arrangement is about to be transformedinto something slightly surprising.
