Aurora Teagarden is learning just how tiring it is to be a new mom. She is home with her newborn daughter, Sophie, and her husband, writer Robin Crusoe, trying to get into a routine and catch up on some much needed sleep. When Robin goes to a writer's convention and Roe comes down with the flu, Roe's mother suggests she all Virginia Mitchell to help out. With Roe feeling miserable and sleeping most of the day, Virginia is a life saver. But one night Roe wakes up to the baby crying. Virginia is not in the house. Roe and her brother, Phillip, search the house and yard. They find a body in the backyard, but it isn't Virginia. It's a stranger. With one person dead and another missing, the police and Roe are baffled.

I read book number nine in the Aurora Teagarden series a few months ago and enjoyed it. I was looking forward to this book, but it just wasn't very good. We read over and over about feeding the baby every two hours, then diapering the baby. Since Sophie won't take a bottle, it's up to Roe to make sure she gets fed. I usually like real life events adding atmosphere to my reading, but this was just monotonous. On top of constantly reading about the baby, there just wasn't much storyline to this mystery. And, I was a bit disappointed with how the mystery was solved. My rating: 2.5 Stars.
