Great book. If you are fan of the Pennyfoot hotel series you will love this book. Even if you are not familiar with the series but want a good mystery during the holiday -this book is for you.

This is a quick read and a good 'cozy' mystery. I plan to read others in this series.

Good continuation of the Pennyfoot Hotel Mysteries making it nice to revisit familiar characters.
From dust jacket: In the spirit of the season, Cecily Sinclair Baxter opens the doors of the Pennyfoot Hotel to host a holiday party where the children of Badgers End can meet Father Christmas. Unfortunately, the jolly old man fails to appear. Worse still, instead of a sack full of toys, he's left behind one of his helpers--a dead footman. who's apparently fallen off the roof.
The footman was in the service of Sid Porter, a notorious village drunkard who assumed the role of St. Nicholas when the first choice fell ill. All suspect Sid was involved in the footman's death--until his Fther Christmas-clothed corpse is found with a knife wound in his chest.
What appears to be an open and shut case--the footman stabbed Sid before tumbling off the roof--bothers Cecily, though, because the murder weapon was never recovered. And since no one has left the hotel since the crime, she's making a list of suspects and checking it twice...

Another good Pennyfoot Hotwl story
a enjoyable historical mystery.
#14 in the Pennyfoot Hotel series and one of her special Christmas mysteries at the hotel. This is the first one I have read of this series. I enjoyed it and even though it is a continuing series I didn't feel like I was left out or lost or behind. It was interesting even though I thought I figured out the killer about 3/4 way through the book. But it is fun to see society's rules in the time period. I definitely want to read more in this series.
A fun read...some unexpected twists..
I was really impressed with this book. I wasn't sure what to expect since I hadn't read any books from the series before this one. It was great that I was able to enjoy it regardless of reading previous books. The characters were explained enough that I was able to keep up, but not too much that I would get annoyed if I had read other books in the series. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. I couldn't put it down. I had to see who the murder was! I will definitely read other books from the series and see how everything began! I would definitely recommend this book.
Why was Santa murdered? Cecily vows to unearth the truth...Gertie, Mrs. Chubb, Michael, Baxter, Phoebe , Madeline all return for the Christmas activities.....A great cozy series.....
Part of the Pennyfoot Hotel Series.
The one that I have is a hardcover book, not a paperback.
