I Love Annette Blair's Books and can't wait for the newest saga. Skirting the Grave is a cute mystery with a touch of romance. Even though I am no fashion expert, her books are still fun to read and I adore her style.

That is SIX stars for "Skirting the Grave" because it was AMAZING and I had to distinguish it from the first three books in the Vintage Magic series, which I have already given five stars each. The Maddie-Nick-Werner storyline is so good I don't even have words. I'll admit I'm rooting for Werner, but we'll see what happens. These mysteries are not the can-you-solve-it-before-the-sleuth kind, but they are entertaining, and Maddie and her friends and family keep me laughing-- sometimes loudly--whether I'm reading at home by myself or in an airplane surrounded by other passengers. I can't wait to read the next installment!

the mystery was good, but that was 10% of the story line. I loved how she could read the clothes and how she tricked a confession. That part was excellent.
I could have done without the 80% of it which was two unbelievably hot hunks with lean, hard bodies fighting over her. That was tedious. It wasn't a story line - it was stupid. Never did she delve into the relationships deeper than how her body was finding the man attractive, so the relationships are very very shallow.
Initially I loved the description of the clothes, but I got tired of that part, too.
I found all the characters so shallow that I didn't care about them, unlike many of the other series that I've read. Those are like old friends. These people are more photographs - 2 dimensional.

A pretty good mystery, I have to say but I was completely distracted by the "love triangle" to the point of annoyance. I understand the heady feeling of two guys fighting over you but please let it go; it is distracting and frankly, not believable. Hopefully the ending of this book will put an end to it. But who knows, I thought the same thing with her last book and boy was I wrong!
