I found the book very different and quite entertaining. This is a character driven novel in a unique world. A kind of Captain Jack Sparrow meets aliens and predators of varying appetites. The characters were well layered and interesting. Even side charaters were fleshed out well. There is this one dead guy on a mission...
Not for the squeamish, didn't make you think deep thoughts, no moralizing or preaching. More like a great roller coaster ride than a trip through the enchanted kingdom. I've already ordered two more by Asher.
