Sadly, this is the last book written by Mr. Parker. May he rest in peace. I've been reading his books since 1969/1970 and his passing is very sad. Joe Mantegna has narrated most, if not all, Parker's "Spenser" books and as always captures the tone and attitude of Spenser. Read the book, and also had to hear Joe Mantegna for this last book. It must have been sad for him. Its a solid Spenser story, a must for all Parker fans. I know other authors are taking over the story but it just won't be the same.

I listen to a lot of audio books sometimes, 2 a week... I have to say I love Joe Mantegna as an actor but, I could barely listen to his voiceover for this audiobook. Every bit of dialogue ended w/ "he said", "she said", "I said"... It was SO distracting. With audios, it's important to have different character voices so, the "He said, she said" is minimal.. not the case here. Extremely disappointing read and the book content wasn't great either. It was my first Robert Parker book and it may be my last... definitely, my last audiobook narrated by Joe Mantegna.

I'm a huge fan of listening to these books read by Joe Mantenga. His voice is comforting. As for the book... It had some twists I didn't see coming. All in all a decent read.
