The modernization did not actually make everything Edwards wrote clearer. Some parts confused Edwards' assertions (I also read the original online at Yale's Jonathan Edwards Center). I found the introduction by John F. MacArthur Jr. helpful. I did not read all the way through the last section by Fanella.
