Just when you thought it was safe to drop your cholesterol medication....
Just in time for the Winter Festival, a glistening layer of snow has covered the streets of April Springs, North Carolina. Of course, it reminds donut shop owner Suzanne Hart of sweet delicious frosting. But her visions of sugar plums plummet when her exs ex-girlfriend gets iced
If you like donutsand who doesnt?youll love this mystery series.Leslie Meier Suzanne could never understand why her ex-husband and actor Max cheated on her with Darlene Higgins. Why Darlenes body was found wearing another womans clothes is an even bigger mystery. Now Max is suspected of murderand Suzanne is sifting through her mixed-up love life looking for clues. If she cant sprinkle evidence on her half-baked theories of whodunit, Max is as good as fried.
An interesting good read! I dont even really care for donuts but this was a good story. The characters are interesting, the plot was developed quite nicely and the ending was nothing I expected and just great. Some really nice recipes in the book also and theyre all not donuts!

Suzanne becomes entangled in another murder. This time her ex is the prime suspect. Lots of girl time with her mom and Grace. Jake is almost an afterthought...or is he. Good cozy 3.5 stars
This is a great series! Small town dynamics, believable characters, good plots & romance thrown in for good measure. Plus plenty of donut recipes!! Everything a person wants in a cozy!

excellent, the baker can bake and solve problems too and he boyfriend comes back so it makes for a romance too.
I have to admit that I'm growing tired of this series. I had hoped that my disinterest in book 2 would be remedied with a fresher mystery in this third installment, but for me, it was just more "day-old donuts" being served up in this installment as well.
I had a hard time simply getting all the way through to the end. Most of the book could have been printed simply by taking paragraphs out of books 1 and 2 and re-printing them into this one. I felt that the mystery itself was almost added in as an afterthought, and it wasn't even a very good one. I will have to think hard about whether I want to bother with book 4 when it comes out... this same story line will be most stale by then unless the author manages to come up with something new!
