This is a great selection of poetry. There is a mix of subtle, silly, musical, and powerful. These include both those included in other anthologies of childrens poetry, and jewels overlooked by others. Illustrated by nine Caldecott Medal artists: Marcia Brown, Leo and Diane Dillon, Richard Egielski, Trina Schart Hyman, Arnold Lobel, Maurice Sendak, Marc Simont, and Margot Zemach. Over 60 poets represented.
