I enjoyed this story very much. Valentin, a product of his past and the times, believes his sexual wants will disgust any well brought up lady. Sara, an intelligent woman past her first blush of youth, longs to feel passion. These two get married early on in the story and do clash and have misunderstandings, but instead of stubbornly butting heads, they each, as reasoning adults (especially Sara) try to understand what is motivating the other. The sex is well written, not vanilla! and the characters make it work.
There is a mystery going on, but it takes a back seat to the love growing between the two main characters. Good book!

This is a solidly satisfying historical erotic romance. The author creates interesting characters who play off one another in an intriguing fashion. The plot is complex enough to string the reader along and the sex scenes fit in nicely. Strongly recommended!

I got this book from library and thought I would give it a try and WOW. This book is SO HOT! If you like erotica plus historical romance then this books is for you. I really like both the hero and heroin. I could understand why the hero acted the way he did and Im glad he finally got a happy ending, although I didnt care much for how they met and got married.
This my first book by the author and I know it wouldnt be my last. Now I want my own copy to keep (had to add it to my wish list).

Excellent book!! I have found a new favorite author! Good storyline, good chemistry between the hero and heroine, and the sex scenes were HOT without being over the top. I really liked the heroine. She was open and honest, and was understanding of the hero's (and his best friend's) horrific past. I thought there was sufficient emotional build up in the book to make the sex believable (and did I mention HOT?!). The final scene will scorch your fingertips. I can't wait to read Peter's story!!!!! I believe this one goes on the keeper shelf!
