Generally I find short story collections hit or miss, but all of the stories in this collection were surprisingly good. My only quibble is that in each story Kate explicitly states that John is "an agent with the BCI and the love of my life."

A SIMPLE MURDER is a collection of short stories featuring Kate Burkholder, the main character of her popular Kate Burkholder series which are full length books.
While I like reading the books the best with their more engrossing and involved storylines, I did enjoy the short stories as well.
Linda Castillo writes an enjoyable read and this collection did not disappoint.
