The book starts out a little slow but as you get to the last 4-5 chapters it all comes together and makes for a good introspective Christmas time read for all of you that get a little too busy or overwhelmed.

The author gives 12 examples of stories from his life how illness, death and poverty have brought him back to a simpler Christmas like he has as a child. Which I find interesting since he now travels over half the year, speaking, and has a radio and TV show. Actually no matter who we are there are times especially faced with death or illness life becomes very simple: we are human and we can not stop death. He speaks very frankly how his faith in God has given him a center to his life and how he follows God's will wherever he is. A very interesting book beginning with a poor childhood, getting his bachelors degree and in midstream decides to quit his Masters DEgree and goes on to be the Governor of Arkansas. I could not put the book down and I do not share the authors politics.

Well, when he was a preteen, he was "selfish, stubborn, and obnoxious"; thank goodness he has changed....right?
