Like all of Elin's books, this was a great story. Made me think of my own teenage days since I was a teenage in the 1970's. Made me laugh and made me cry such a great story.
This is a smooth, easy listen for summer. You feel the agony as the main character's life unravels in the wake of her husband's grave betrayal. You long to be on the sail boat soaring through the bay off Nantucket. You cringe at the insistence of the disgruntled customers who were swindled of their money. However, it doesn't do a real deep dive into character development, and was a bit lacking. I did not regret listening, though - it was enjoyable.
good writing
Enjoyable for cheesy, relatively predictable chick lit. I'll admit that I did start to care about Meredith and I liked Connie from the start. Of course I had some of the mystery figured out right away, but hey, it was a good audio read for short bursts in the car.
