I will preface this review with the fact that I am not a Cassie Edwards fan, so my review is negative. After trying to read several of her books over the years I just avoid them altogether now. I think that she has some great story ideas but her writing, in my opinion, reads like a "B" movie. This particular title came to me among a stack of novels someone was getting rid of. Since my mother has become an avid reader of historical romance within the past year I gave this one to her but did not voice my feelings of the author's writing style. I wanted her to form her own opinion and this title was her first attempt at Edwards. She quit reading after the first one-third of the book. I know Ms. Edwards has a loyal fan base. I think mom and I just prefer a stronger style of writing.
