Another super entry in the Oregon Files series. I have really enjoyed the last several of these novels about the exploits of the crew of the Oregon. This one takes place less on the sea and has a lot of action in the jungles of Argentina, the Antarctic, and trying to find the secret of a "Treasure Pit" on an island off the coast of Washington. This part of the novel was quite intriguing but it reminded me a lot of another great actioner - Riptide by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Riptide was about another treasure pit or water pit supposedly constructed by pirates to contain hidden treasure. Not sure if Cussler/Du Brul borrowed the idea from this earlier novel. Anyway, "Silent Sea" was a page-turner as usual, and I would highly recommend it.

over the world with current happenings.. Loved how he connects the past with the present, and ties it all together. Exciting, fast paced and futuristic.. Cannot wait for his new book about the Oregon..

Once again Clive has teamed up with De Brul and produced another master piece in writing. The Oregon Files are probably not far from the truth in today's world. It was one of those books that once he sets the stage you can't put it down.
As always Clive Cussler delivers astounding historical adventures! A must read for any fans of daring, swashbuckling, or just pure entertainment!
This is a great book. I love the way the characters interact with each other. There's plenty of action as well. I can't wait to start the next one because this one is a cliffhanger. This was hard to put down.

Once again Clive Cussler and Jack Du Brul turn out a novel that is highly entertaining with an adequately intricate plot and interesting characters. The basic frame of the story is a cast of bad guys whose country wants to take over the Antartic continent for, what else, lots of oil.
Juan Cabrillo and his crew of specialists travel the world in what appears to be a tramp cargo ship but is a very special vessel that is always instrumental in thwarting the bad guys. Juan and his crew are for hire (highly paid) to solve problems that can't be officially recognized by variuos governments around the world. A bit far-fetched in some aspects, but still a very good read.

Clive Cussler never fails to supply thrills, adventure, comedy and a rip roaring story. This book is no exception to the Cussler adventure. You'll be reading late into the night with this one. Enjoy.

They have all become like friends to me and have a lot to do with me continuing to read the Oregon Files. Although some of the technical stuff is hard for me to follow, the humor and adventure is worth the read. There is always great geography and history lessons in every one of his novels. This one goes from Argentina to Washington State to Antarctica. I look forward to reading the next installment of the Oregon Files and highly recommend these books to those who love adventure.
