At first glance this didn't strike me as a book that would have lots of humor - the heroine, Mandy is mute. After suffering a terrible trauma as a child, she lost the ability to speak, and communicates through sign language and writing notes. But to my surprise there were a lot of funny moments in this story, and plenty of zany characters (from dogs to aunts) who do unexpected and sometimes naughty things! I thought it was fun and give it four stars.
