A must for new parents: in my experience REALLY reduces kids frustration and lets them talk to u: even 5 signs: eat, more, all done, bed, drink will solve many problems. And easy for parents. Beginning speech is much quicker and clearer!

This is an excellent book to help you baby learn sign language. This book single handily helped my babies avoid frustration and tantrums from not being able to express themselves in words yet.

I really loved this book. It was amazing to see my daughter understand when signed to and then to see her use the signs herself. And if you are wondering about how this will influence the learning of spoken language, my daughter was speaking full, clear sentences by the time she was 2. I did always speak the words as I signed them because I wanted her to learn both but when she still less than a year old, she could ASK for help instead of just crying and us trying to figure it out. Everyone should try this! Some of our favorite words were: more, bath, all done, up, down, stop, and help.

Two of my infant grandchildren were taught signing at just a few months of age. It was amazing how quickly they learned to communicate their wants and needs. It helps to eliminate frustration on both the part of the parents and the baby and that eliminates a lot of problems early on. This book is highly recommended.

very easy to read and understand the signs and directions. I think there could be more action signs such as "go potty", "get dressed", etc.
I myself was skeptical about using it with my daughter but even now that she is speaking, i am still incorporating signs and she still uses the basic "more" she learned a long time ago! I do believe that teaching her the basic signs prevented frustration that I hear other Moms report because their children can't communicate yet. WE have not had any such communication problems and I truly believe it's because I taught her sign.

The illustrations were great and allowed me to make mini booklets for family members to help reinforce the signs.
