Author: F. Scott Fitzgerald
Definitive novel of the "Lost Generation" focuses on the coming of age of Amory Blaine, a handsome, wealthy Princeton student. He exemplifies the young men and women of the 20s who grew up to find "all Gods dead, all wars fought, all faiths in man shaken." Fitzgerald’s first novel and an immediate, spectacular success. It may be a function of my current mood, but this book just didn't grab me. On a page by page basis, the writing is good and I could get caught up in it for a bit. When I was halfway through and didn't care enough about what happened to keep reading, I had to conclude that I just didn't like the book all that much.
