I love this author and I love this series but this was not my favorite story. I got somewhat bogged down in the jungle and for me it went rather slow in the middle but picked up at the end. I do wish we would have had more of a background story on Lucy and Gus. But, even one of Marliss Melton's so-so books is better than a lot of the best sellers out there, in my opinion.

After barely surviving her last mission, CIA Agent Lucy Donovan suffered through months of post traumatic stress. Finally ready to get back to field work, Lucy is surprised to find out that she is being teamed with Navy SEAL Gus Atwater, her former lover. Lucy and Gus are going undercover as U.N. Peacekeepers negotiating the release of two CIA agents held captive for nearly a year. They will also be feeding information about the terrorists to Gus' SEAL team who are on standby in case their cover is blown. Gus is worried that Lucy's PTSD may surface at the wrong time. Lucy is worried that her feelings for Gus may not be in the past.
Another great addition to Melton's Navy SEAL Team Twelve series. This book has a fast paced story that takes place in the jungle, one of my favorite settings. Both Lucy and Gus were introduced to us in a previous book. We knew they used to be a couple, but really didn't learn a lot about their past in this book. I thought we would have some flashback scenes or more discussion about their break up. I was really surprised when that didn't happen. My rating: 4 Stars.
