While I found the first two "Shopaholic" books humorous, and this one had its moments, Becky's indecision, the constant wishy-washyness, got rather frustrating and tiresome this time around. The end of it all was good, but the last half of the book I found myself thinking, "enough already! Where's the end of the book?"

Becky is back in book 3 of the shopaholic series and she is...gasp.... getting married!!!! And as usual Becky's "maybe-if-i-just-bury-my-head-in-the-sand-this-might-go-away" approach to her life's biggest problems gets her into trouble once more....and this time; as one would imagine; with the amount of effort and emotion on behalf of many(especially family members)that goes into planning a wedding, the situation Becky gets herself into this time is a full blown crisis!!! And what's more, is she is being forced to make a choice between the things she loves most --- posh matierial things (her shopaholic side) or her not so posh family (whom she loves dearly of course) And to make matters worse the evil mother-in-law-to-be gets involved and ends up right in the middle of the whole mess..Becky knows that as the date of her wedding draws nearer that she needs to make a decision before she ends up hurting the people she loves the most..... But Becky isnt going to let anyone else take charge of her once in a lifetime chance at having the wedding she has always dreamed of....or more appropriatly said: the weddings she has always dreamed of.... An excellent read from beginning to end...will leave you begging for more!!!

This was decent if only because of Luke's mother. Otherwise, another drama mama story about Becky Bloomwood and her (sob, sob) uncontrollable desire to please everyone while trying to attain the most fabulous wedding (Luke's mother's) money could buy.

Comical reading. I read this right before I got married..plus..I am a shopaholic..so I could relate to every page.
While I am a fan of Kinsella and have read the first 2 books of the series, this is the one that made me leave this series behind. The first was light and funny, the second lead to more hilarity but this one made me view Becky as completely spoiled and rather spineless. I love chicklit and think much of it is light and fun, but this book just struck me as vapid. Try it if you like.
Entertaining series and a fun read.

I enjoy this series having read 4 of the books. The language is distracting and offensive. It's really not necessary to the story. Becky is spoiled and shallow but if you take her for the way she is presented, it's a fun read.

The best so far! Who knew planning a wedding could get so out of hand. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Life has been good for Becky Bloomwood: She's become the best personal shopper at Barney's, she and her successful entrepreneurial boyfriend, Luke, are living happily in Manhattan's West Village, and her new next door neighbor is a fashion designer! But with her best friend, Suze, engaged, how can Becky fail to notice that her own ring finger is bare? Not that she's been thinking of marriage (or diamonds) or anything...
Then Luke proposes! Bridal registries dance in Becky's head. Problem is, two other people are planning her wedding: Becky's overjoyed mother has been waiting forever to host a backyard wedding, with the bride resplendent in Mum's frilly old gown. While Luke's high-society mother is insisting on a glamorous, all-expenses paid affair at the Plaza. Both weddings for the same day. And Becky can't seem to turn down either one. Can everyone's favorite shopaholic tie the knot before everything unravels?

This is the third book in the Shopaholic series, and I think it's probably my favorite. Becky's life couldn't be better! She's perfect as a personal shopper at Barney's, and she's going to marry Luke! Unlike the first two novels, Becky's debt isn't her major problem this time around (though she still loves to shop). Rather, she faces the dilemma of having two weddings! One is a high-price affair being planned in NYC by Luke's frigid mother (Luke desperately wants to build a relationship with her). The other is a simple, hometown wedding being planned by Becky's mother back in England. Both weddings are planned for the same day and Becky doesn't have the heart to call either of them off! Hilarity ensues as Becky juggles planning both weddings and keeping Luke from finding out. All-in-all, this is a very light-hearted and entertaining read.
great! fun easy reading.

I liked the inside cover. I thought it was a little slow getting in the story. The being was fast too get into but the middle went slow of there and the last few chapters where really nail bitters.
Confessions of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (Books 1 and 2 of the Becky Bloomwood series) were virtually identical in the main character's central dilemma, and thus needlessly repetitive a la did-she-learn-nothing-the-first-time-around. Thankfully, Hollywood combined the two books when making the (first?) movie.
In the third installment, Becky Bloomwood gets herself in deep again, but in a fresh, funny way that has the reader simultaneously laughing at her folly and biting our nails, sharing in her stress over the situation. Becky also grows up a bit in this novel when her significant other, Luke Brandon, enters a downward spiral due to some personal demons, and she needs to take charge for a change and get their shared life back on track, which she does quite admirably.
Whatever critics say about this character, especially in light of the current global economic situation, the problems she creates for herself are usually due to her desire to be kind to others and not hurt anyone's feelings, and, really, couldn't we all use a few more people like that in our lives, fictional or otherwise?

Becky plans two weddings after her shopping addiction takes hold yet again. How will she ever get out of it? Read and find out. It's one of the better books in the series. I really enjoyed it.
I think I liked this one the most, actually! I mean, the solution was rather obvious, but the book managed to be fresh and exciting. All in all, this series has been much more fun to read than I expected! And they certainly are fast reads! Not to mention the fact that I am even more curious about the movie. I wonder if they will make five movies?
I must admit, one detail really bothered me: in a Sleeping Beauty wedding, why would the "exit" song be "Someday My Prince Will Come" when that song is from _Snow White_? I mean, how did that slip by? Did no one watch Sleeping Beauty? It's only the best Disney movie...

She has managed to parlay her personal and professional passions into a dream job as a personal shopper at Barney's, and she and her wildly successful boyfriend live a life of relative peace and prosperity in Manhattan's West Village. Well, at least they would if Becky could manage to curb her extravagant spending habits a bit. I thought this was an entertaining read-this is a much different genre of books for me since I primarily read mystery and true crime, but this book is lighthearted and funny. She has managed to parlay her personal and professional passions into a dream job as a personal shopper at Barney's, and she and her wildly successful boyfriend live a life of relative peace and prosperity in Manhattan's West Village. When Luke finally pops the question, a euphoric Becky manages to entangle herself in another rather sticky predicament. Becky's cozy mum back in England has planned a homespun wedding for her only daughter on the same day for which Luke's frosty society mother has booked the Plaza in New York. Two weddings on the same day, what's a committed consumer to do? Chock-full of the charming antics and asides that made the first two installments hilarious best-sellers.
