A fascinating, tragic, horrific and intensely dramatic telling of the days and especially the hours leading up to the atom bomb falling from the plane and the crew running for their lives.Even 11 miles away,at the moment of the explosion Tibbet's dental fillings were buzzing from the radiation and the plane tosses like a toy. What struck me was the contrast between the lives of the people on the ground in Hiroshima going about their daily routines as the plane takes off and approaches ever closer minute by minute.I literally couldn't sit still. The contrast between the hell in the aftermath of the explosion and the base at Tinian holding a party with a "jitterbug" contest upon the crew's return was disturbing, even after reminding myself "I'm judging these events from a 2015 perspective."An engrossing story.
