End of the world disaster novel. Large on ramifications of east vs. west vs. the rest of the world. Needed a bit more "after" for me to give it 5 stars. Great adjectives; a rainy day favorite. "Lucifer's Hammer" was a perfect 5 1/2 stars! This one is about low 4'ish.

Starts a little slow, but after the first couple of chapters the pace picks up and it is a enjoyable end of the world story.

The comet. The first strike destroyed Cleveland, Tunnis, and parts of Alaska, Kansas, Canada and Austrail. That was barely the beginning.
The sworm-a cloud of meteors and asetoids fifty thousand miles across-was coming. Hundreds of misseles put earth under siege, forcing the world into a panic hell of anachry and catastrophe. Riots and orgies rampaged in the rubble. And worse waited.
