Greg Richards is attracted to Beth Allen, but as THE SHERIFF OF SHELTER VALLEY , he can't help wondering who she is and what she's running from. Beth returns Greg's feelings, but fears once he discovers her true identity he may turn his back, and his heart, on her. While the romance between Beth and Greg develops at a nice steady pace, Tara Taylor Quinn introduces a secondary plot thread that overshadows Beth's story at times. In addition, some readers may be troubled by Greg and Beth's nonchalant reaction to a big revelation at the end of the book.
