I didn't think that anything could be as disturbing as CHERRY BOMB, but this comes close. Jack wakes up bound and gagged in a storage room and knows exactly who has kidnapped her and what her fate is. The alternating flashbacks to the beginning of her career and three years previous are illuminating as what makes Jack tick. Creepy villians, dreams lost and huge punch to the gut. 4 stars

Excellent Jack book. This story takes you from present, to three years ago, to 21 yrs ago when she first joined the force. The start of her on the police force paired with McGlade to partnering with Herb, the introduction of Alan before she was married, and to the present with Phinn. All throughout as the past and present collide with a killer she's been chasing for 25 years.
