The storyline in the first Immortals book (though similiar to Twilight originally) was good and it did progress throughout the series but now, we are getting nowhere. Nothing really happens in this book. It almost seems like Noel has her next book written and the plot is stuck in that book. It's really disappointing when authors use series to sell books rather than to tell a good story. Definitely wait until the next book comes out before reading Shadowland because by the time it does come out, you won't even remember what Shadowland was about in the first place.

I did not enjoy this book at all. I read the first 2 and was waiting for this one. It is very disappointing. I don't think I will even bother to read the next one.

I totally agree with another poster who said Nothing happened in this book. I don't know what has happend to Alyson Noel since Evermore but it's been going down hill ever since. This book was boring at best IMO. I looked up once while on page 200 something and thought "When the Heck is something going to happen here!?!?".

Ever goes to school, Ever goes to work, Ever and Damen have long talks that drag on and on about the universe and energy (same stuff he's been yacking about since Blue Moon, nothing new), Haven's cat dies. Those are the highlights. Ok... maybe I'm being a bit sarcastic and overly negative but for real... you could skip Shadowland and go on to the next book and really not be too lost. Nothing much happens the entire book then in the last 50 pages we have an anti-climatic poorly written ending. It doesn't deserve the words "twist" or even "cliff-hanger".

I'm growing so tired of the predictable Roman story line. And Haven somehow even thought she's not this big important character getting kidnapped by the villian and used against Ever.

That brings me to Noel's failure at making me the reader care anything about Ever's supposed two best friends. Exactly how is it that she expects these two to be endearing? Miles is mostly self-absorbed and overly dramatic but not in a cute gay friend kind of way. He's only sparringly nice and friendly to Ever. Haven... I challenge someone to find any instances in any of the books where Haven has been best friend material to Ever! I've felt more chemistry between Ever and Stacia than Ever and Haven. She's been snippy, hateful and jealous in most of their exchanges. I don't know... I'm just not feeling it.

I was honestly disappointed that there's yet another book coming out Winter 2010 Night Star after the next book Dark Flame... The only thing that keeps me reading this series is my investment in Damon & Ever's love which I did find honest and real from the first book... but I am getting tired of Damon's tangents... giving away all his wealth to fix his karma... taking on guardianship of the twins (while I like the twins something about his obsessed need to parent them irritates me, as it did Ever)... taking yet another break from Ever so she can "choose" him.

Sorry this review is so long, I've been saving up since Book 1, LOL! My recommendations for YA books in this genre... Vampire Kisses Series, Vampire Academy Series, Evernight Series... and of course... the Master of them all... Twilight Series.

This book made a great continuation of the last book in the series. Definately some twists that were unexpected and made for a change of pace. Over all, I could not put the book down and am waiting to go buy the next one in the series because it leave you with such a huge cliff hanger.

This book was awful. I've been reading this series since it was loaned out to me and I want to know what happens, but this is the worst book. Also there is far too much witchcraft and tries to promote that some is "good" when messing with it at all is dangerous and evil. There is also underage drinking and the idea of having sexual contact at all is okay (there is one scene where there main characters are making out and taking off their clothes to prepare to do more). I just feel a bit sick in reading this. They try to play it off like it is all fun and good when really it is immoral and wrong. . .what happened to morals at all!?

This book was so dumb. I only made it to page 79 before I had to get it out of my hands. Ugh!
