Carolyn Smith is the foster child of Sally McCall. At Sally's death bed, Carolyn is shocked by the reappearance of Alex McCall, Sally's son. Carolyn is sure that Alex was killed 18 years ago. Why is this imposter here now? Is he in fact an imposter?
These questions are explored with Stuart's ususal suspense and sensuality. A good, quick read.

Good writer; a fairly standard but well-written romantic suspenser.

Anne Stuart is one of my favorite authors; however, I like her earlier books better than the more recent ones, which tend to be a little "dark". This one is worth reading, but I didn't put it on my keeper shelves.
Very enjoyable reading.
