A NY Times bestseller in 2001, this is a memoir (translated from French) which is erotic, but not obscene. Nonetheless it is a book for adults and is quite open about the author's experiences
Helpful Score: 5
Explict, erotic and quite eloquent. A pleasure to read. The language and descriptions are quite beautiful and at time read like poetry which is a great part of the enjoyment of reading the book. Not for everyone.

Definitely not for the prudish. Wow!!

WOW!HOT! makes you think about your own sex life, loved this book, I plan on keeping this book to read again.
Helpful Score: 3
A self-biography of an extremely liberated, sexual woman. Fairly graphic, but mainly introspective and psychological. Ackward at parts because of translation (original written in French). One-of-a-kind novel.
Helpful Score: 2
For me, unreadable. I thought it would be a great feminist view of sexual freedom, instead it is unpleasant and vouyeristic, and the author seems to dislike herself intensely. There is no heart or soul in her writing. Perhaps this is because it is French, who traditionally don't have an emotive style of writing, but I just couldn't get into it.
Helpful Score: 1
A memoir that is interesting although not explicit.
Great book! NOT for the prudish!
This book is horrible. It is just a bunch of senseless sex with no plot or storyline. I'm not a prude but it is just raunchy. Talk about no self esteem or self worth. Pretty much the main character is a sperm receptacle. It's just a piece of trash.
very good copy-minimal wear
