A very odd, very good book. Ring-tailed lemus? Check. Mutant great white shark? Check. Tower of Babel? Being built... Figuring out what these things have to do with each other? A lot of fun.
Also, despite the title, this isn't a trilogy. In some ways similar in oddity to the Illuminatus Trilogy, but to me, easier to understand.

An innovative/creative SciFi "trilogy" by a very promising young fantasy/SciFi writer, Matt Ruff. Ruff brings together a talking holographic head of Ayn Rand in a hurricane Lamp, a great white shark named Meisterbrau, eco-pirate Philo Dufrense, and Harry Gant who is building a new Tower of Babel 500 stories above Manhatten.

Quite amusing. A quick read. The author has some very interesting ideas and the book is fun to read.
