A wonderful book along the same lines as 'The Red Tent'. Miryam and Tziporrah each tell the tale of their very different lives and how they came to be with Moses. The women are very well-fleshed out, but Moses and the rest of the characters aren't given as much attention to detail. The ending seemed a little abrupt. Overall, a very good book and highly reccommended read.

After reading Kohn's previous novel about Queen Esther, I was anxiously awaiting this book. Like "The Gilded Chamber" this novel did not disappoint either.

This is the tale of Moses and The Exodus as told by the two women in his life - (biological) sister Miriam and his wife Tzipporah. While many are familiar with the biblical tale of the Exodus, Kohn has taken that story and fleshed it out bringing some minor characters to life. I really felt like I knew and empathised with Miriam and Tzipporah throughout the book.

I can't wait to see what Kohn comes up with next.
