This was a fascinating story about a man I had never heard of before. It makes you wonder why he is not famous. He should be. His travels are much more amazing than Marco Polo's and this man was blind. Just writing about it makes me want to read it again. This man traveled all over the world, to the edge of volcanoes, across Siberia, everywhere you can imagine. He had few monetary resources, was often ill, and yet overcame every obstacle to spend his life experiencing all that he could of the world instead of sitting in a room or sanitarium, as anyone else with his 'disabilities' in his era would have done.
