AFter reading Lane's Deep of the Sound, which I found compelling, I was looking forward to this. This didn't have the same punch that Sound did.
The relationship between Connor and Noah seemed to take off too quickly for me. They've barely even met, literally, Noah picks him and his agent up at the airport and they're headed to Bluewater Bay and Connor already feels as if Noah knows him. That was what I didn't like about the book. Noah seemed to know what Connor needed without Connor ever having to tell him anything.
But the backdrop of Bluewater Bay, the rest of the story, especially learning how alone Connor felt after Vinnie and why, were handled well.
