Someone on here said that self publishing on Amazon is free. My Dad would love his book to see publication. can anyone explain how it works?

Basically if its an ebook it can be done for free, I think you might have to buy ISBNs though.

They DONT edit it or correct it in any way.

You have to format it to fit their templates, you have to supply the covers already made up and submit the file.

Createspace (amazon) explains lots of this.

Let me know if you wish to do this before June of this year. I can help you get a few free books :)

All the publishing on Amazon is free.  The IBSN is free, the cover choices, if you use theirs are free.  If you find your own cover picture online from a public domain file, that's also free.  Amazon takes their cut when you sell a book.  Just sign on to Amazon.com, scroll down to where it says "Self-publish with us" and go through the site.  You can publish to print or Kindle free.  Proofs of your print book cost a low member fee.  Once you approve the proof you hit the "publish" button and you're in print.  Check it out.  It's easy.  Getting the book done is the hard part. You don't have to use their templates.  You can use your own PDF file.  The templates make it easier to get started. There is a step-by-step cover creator that is easy to use as well, with several styles to choose from.  You choose one of their pictures for the background or your own.
