It gives a lot of info on the different families of plants, and how to preserve purity of lines, hand-pollenation, etc, but you'd better have at least a bachelors in botany if you plan on keeping up with this book. The New Seed-Starters Handbook by Nancy Bubel is much more practical for me.

If you have any interest on saving seeds for next year. This is the book! Not only tells you how to do it, but also has comintary from a master gardener from each region on the growing of the particular food.
