Victorian England = After three years of blissfull marriage, Emma finds out that she can't conceive. Her husband wants an annulment so that he can carry on his lineage. So she sets out across Europe with her faithful lady's maid, determined to enjoy herself - and she does! She starts out by deflowering young virgin men, then teaching young women how to pleasure themselves and their partners. She's waaaaay before her time. She also has a debauched devotee with an agenda of his own following her around Europe and back to England. The narrative in this book is so matter-of-fact that it kills any erotic effects.
But as Victorian erotica, it does the job.
