I could not put this book down until I had finished it. How would this mess of problems be solved? One of my favorites. This was a fun series.

I think I liked it. I know that sounds funny but I was really frustrated with the storyline and kept thinking why did he do that? It is well written and keeps your interest but you really feel for the main character and the mess he gets himself in trying to do the right thing. Really shows the restraints of the time period.

I can't say that I really liked this book. I was glad to hear about the jewels which is such a big feature in the 1st and 2nd books. So much of this book was spent in the development of the crisis that there was never a chance to enjoy the resolution.
