Love the series of books written by this author. This has emotional ups and downs that keep you on your toes.
The premise sounded wonderful and unique but the book failed to live up to it. Prince Viktor was Russian in name only and most closely resembled your typical young mid 20's American bachelor. His childhood and Russian heritage seemed to affect him not in the slightest and there were so many times when he said, thought, or did things that seemed totally out of character for who he was supposed to be portraying. He accuses Regina, a woman he already says he intends to marry, of playing a role in the murders, he uses a term to (jokingly) describe Regina that was pretty awful, and finally he does something pretty horrible to her at the end - that seriously endangers her life - for a relatively unimportant reason and then gets promptly forgiven. He makes a suggestion for what she could do in bed to seem like a different woman that was pretty disgusting too. In short, he's your average man. Not horrible or evil but certainly not a hero or the the type of man women buy romance novels to read about.
