This book was a dissapointment after reading Mary Wilson's books. It's full of platitudes and vague statements. I would have liked more specific detail. Ross writes of how she enjoys listening to self-help tapes, and I think the style has influenced her prose. At first I thought this must have been written by a ghostwriter, but if the letters from her daughters are authentic, then this overblown, sappy prose style may run in the family. The book is filled with photographs, which are excellent.
